Eagle Oak Retreat Foundation will hold a fundraising rally benefiting Carry the Load from 6-10 p.m. Saturday, May 27, at FireHouse Gastro Park, 321 W. Main St., Grand Prairie.
“This fundraising event honors our heroes who serve to protect our freedom and celebrates their commitment to service,” a spokesman said. “This free evening event includes a variety of activities, great food and drinks, indoor and outdoor open seating, and live music by David Tribble and Kelvin Thomas.”
All proceeds from the event will go directly to Eagle Oak Retreat, which is based in Italy, Texas, and provides services to veterans and first responders. The event benefits Carry the Load, a national nonprofit that serves as an umbrella organization to about 60 smaller nonprofits, including Eagle Oak Retreat, that serve to provide meaningful ways for Americans to honor the sacrifices made by the nation’s military, veterans, first responders, and their families.
“At Eagle Oak Retreat, we strive to provide our heroes with the training and resources they need to thrive,” the spokesman said. “We believe education and wellness practices are of the utmost importance to support our heroes’ mental, physical and emotional wellbeing. Our mission is to empower them to heal and grow through posttraumatic growth training.”
The community is encouraged to turnout and support the rally.
“Help us honor those who have served or are currently serving our country and join us in showing our appreciation on this special Memorial Day weekend,” the spokesman said.
